New Delhi, September 17: Rajeev Chandrasekhar, the head of the BJP in Kerala, has expressed strong disapproval of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in light of comments made by former Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi. Chandrasekhar stated, “A person is characterized by their adversaries and recognized by their allies.”
He further added, “Rahul Gandhi’s associates include individuals who support terrorism in Pakistan, such as this foolish Afridi. I urge all Indians to refrain from elevating these clowns from Pakistan; they are mere footnotes in the narrative that India is crafting, which is influencing the world and shaping India's future.”
Chandrasekhar's remarks were in response to Afridi's alleged comments regarding the BJP-led government and his favorable mention of Rahul Gandhi.
Other BJP officials have also criticized Gandhi following Afridi's statements. Amit Malviya, another BJP leader, remarked, “Shahid Afridi, who consistently expresses hostility towards India and fantasizes about Kashmir joining Pakistan, is now suddenly praising Rahul Gandhi. Afridi claims that Rahul seeks ‘dialogue’ with Pakistan while disparaging PM Modi by likening India's stance on Pakistan to Israel's actions in Gaza. Why is it that every adversary of India finds a companion in Rahul Gandhi? When those who oppose Bharat begin to support you, the citizens of India clearly understand where your allegiances lie,” he posted on X on Tuesday.
